Montenegro Flights - Airports
There are two international airports in Montenegro: Tivat Airport and Podgorica Airport (Golubovci). The airport in neighbouring Croatia, Dubrovnik Airport (Cilipi) can also be used for flights to Montenegro because it is only 24 km from Herceg Novi and 45 km from Tivat Airport
Podgorica Airport - Podgorica is about 1500 km from Berlin and Paris and 2000 kilometers from Moscow and London. Podgorica Airport is located in Golubovci and is 12 kilometers south of the city. Podgorica Airport is the main airport for Montenegro flights although Tivat Airport is closer to touristic destinations so tourists often use Tivat Airport for their Montenegro flights. Podgorica Airport has eight departure and two arrival gates and it can handle up to one million passengers per year. The current passenger flow is estimated at 300.000 with the sudden increase during summer months. The airport has new passenger terminal built to accomodate an increasing rate of Montenegro flights, the refurbishment and spacious parking space. Taxi and car rental services are available nearby.
Tivat Airport is located 4 kilometers from Tivat. It is located in the middle of coastal line, near Bay of Kotor and only 20 kilometers from Montenegrin main touristic centre Budva, thus it represents a good choice for tourists coming to Montenegro Coast. There is a regular Tivat - Belgrade line throught the year, with the number of international flights greatly increasing during summer touristic season. Tivat Airport is smaller than Podgorica airport hovewer it is well equiped to handle Montenegro flights from many destinations. All necessery airport services are there, phone boots, shops, taxi services.
Dubrovnik Airport is located in Cilipi, Croatia, 20 kilometers from Dubrovnik. Although this airport is not located within Montenegro borders it is often used for Montenegro flights being only 24 km from Herceg Novi, 44 km from Tivat and 68 km from Budva. Tourists who come to Montenegro via Dubrovnik airport have bus transfer organized to hotels in Montenegro.
